Where We Come From
Tomco is a certified woman owned, national general contractor and we are proud of our history.
TOMCO was created in 2015 by Anne Sauber, Tom Motschull and Jennifer Erickson with a mission to change the status quo of retail general contracting.
Tom worked with Gap, Inc. for 20 years before co-founding TOMCO. He understands what it takes to build lasting client relationships and was witnessing a shift in the standard GC model. Through corporate structures that de-personalized the construction process, the industry was no longer supporting the GC/Owner partnership.
Anne’s background includes 25 years of finance experience with the same major automaker and is a vital addition to TOMCO’s success and ability to remain fiscally sound. When Tom first shared his ideas for a new kind of construction company, Anne had the vision to make it woman owned and managed. She brought in Jennifer to make that vision a reality.
Jennifer worked with Tom for 13 years, starting as a Project Coordinator in 2007, then as Senior Coordinator, Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager and then Sr. Project Manager. As current Director of Operations, she believes successful project execution starts in-house and is achieved through continuation of education and professional growth.
Cohesively, TOMCO’s three core values emerged:

We've had amazing results!
In fact, TOMCO has consistently doubled revenues year over year and increased it’s client base through referral only business. We have no sales staff, no marketing department and we are not afraid to say ‘no’ when needed.
In addition, TOMCO operates with no debt and constantly right sizes overhead to keep expenses in line with receivables.
With a strong financial base, TOMCO created an employee nominated, quarterly charity program. TOMCO has donated to over 20 amazing organizations. In addition, the TOMCO team has participated in countless community events and programs, including food drives and animal shelter donations.
Furthermore, TOMCO’s commitment to Anne’s original vision has been successful. For example, women have consistently represented over 80% of total staff, including our field team.
In addition,by utilizing an in-house mentorship program, TOMCO has grown Coordinators to Senior Coordinators, Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers.
Key TOMCO Milestones
2015: Went 'live' for business with Gap, Inc., Men's Wearhouse and Daltile as original business partners.
2016: Executed remodels, programs, roll-outs and completed our first new store build-outs.
2017: Completed hundreds of remodels between 5 national retail clients.
2018: Completed 1,000 projects nationwide, doubled office space and team members.
2020: TOMCO and Jennifer Erickson are NASCLA, ICC and OSHA certified. Collectively, they hold 14 of the 21 state licenses required, expanding TOMCO's reach to 43 states.
